Cast Not Away Your Confidence

Where is your confidence? In what do you base your life? I grew up in a faith filled family. But each person has to make their own way. And even then, you will probably revisit your decision several times throughout your life. I am nearing half a century of living...And my foundation has been tested, inspected, shaken and repoured. I left quite a few formerly "important" things behind. But what I have kept, I can carry with me anywhere, no matter who I am among. It is a radical faith, but the cost of it comes to me. The freedom is not in what I find here, but like a caged bird, no matter how much I am attacked, or harassed, I still have a song. I sing not because I am out of the cage, but because in spite of this cage of a season of trial, I can see the freedom. They who have battered my family have not stolen the Treasure of our Hearts.!

I absolutely love the way this version tells it- like it is reading my mail...
Hebrews 10:35 (The Message)

32-39: "Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn't touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don't throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It's still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God's plan so you'll be there for the promised completion.

It won't be long now, he's on the way;
he'll show up most any minute.
But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust;
if he cuts and runs, I won't be very happy.
But we're not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We'll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way. "

Blog Post end sig small
Our "anchor" holds, our song is still heard, even in this strange land of walking through the dark. Job said "Though He slay me, yet will I praise Him"- it is not a complaint as it might seem!! It is not martyrdom! It is a declaration of undying confidence by one who discovered the limitless love of the Father and Lord. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God, I am confident in this.
