Fresh Faces- Interview with Outside The Box Design Studio

My life has been unique and full of variety. I was born to a family of four girls, and
Then my parents answered a call to be house-parents at a Children’s  Christian Home.
That meant living with a family of up to 16, with kids from many backgrounds and nationalities! Imagine our family vacations! Lol.
I have always loved art and different cultures, so after college, it was no surprise that I was a free lance artist and educational missionary with my husband and two children who are now grown. I absolutely loved living in Mexico, and those years are what inspired  “Sueño de México” ( I Dream of Mexico).  While living in beautiful Honduras, Central America, we founded  private school in the capital city. We also adopted a baby girl and named her Cassandra. Unfortunately, while still there, the laws changed and we were forced to return her to her birth mother. She is forever in our hearts, and we have many wonderful photos  from that time that have been scrapped!   After leaving  the  mission field, I became a High School Spanish teacher. I never would have imagined that happening.  I enjoyed it for several years. I am now back to  freelancing as an artist and graphic designer.  Painting in watercolors and acrylics, polymer clay work, collage, and altered art are my other passions. I used to paper scrap and still have supplies.  Occasionally I will work with paper, probably  will ‘til my stash is gone.  I enjoy creating hand painted/ made accents and including  them in my designs.   Art journaling  is also very important  to me as a means of expression, as is Faith journaling.  My designs feature an artistic, colorful and sometimes vintage style.  I am very grateful to many generous and helpful people who taught me about digital scrapbooking and design. I owe a great deal to them.
